I want to write something thoughtful and inspired but the truth is I've barely had time to keep up with basic hygiene lately!
I started full time work a few weeks ago and I have yet to figure out how to carve proper personal time into this new schedule.
Previously, I was in school and while this required more actual output of work, it was easier to schedule time in which to do the work.
Paid employment means I have to be in a cubicle for a designated 8 hours per day, therefore, I have less ability to get things done.
By things I mean things that are important.
Work is SUCH a waste of time. At least the work I'm doing is.
Sure - I enjoy water cooler chat and lattes but there are things I NEED TO GET DONE!
Anyhow - blogging and,to be honest, parenting, showering, cleaning,tv watching, book reading, and thinking, are all taking a back seat right now.
Thanks for listening.
Ps.. I enjoy reading everybody elses stuff so although I'm asking to be excused, I am also requesting that you all continue to write!
There are a few older posts of mine that seem to get a lot hits on a daily
basis. I am going to re-run one or a two a week...

I know exactly what you are talking about. While I'm still a student over the summer I had a 9-5 and boy was it exhausting. The work was nothing, but I couldn't do a load of laundry or dishes in between chapters or stay up late to finish and then be ok to take a nap the next day...
I'm not sure how it will all work in Dec when I enter the workforce for good. Maybe we can swap tips...
Props to all you single mamas in the workforce and being the amazing moms that you are.
Ya it's nuts!
I second your shout out to single mamas in the workforce!
Thanks for the feedback.
in my most recent post I posted a link to this discussion...not sure what the protocal is..hope you don't mind.

I think as a parent, I love routine even more than my children do! You'll find your own, new rhythm soon enough.
ROUTINES ROCK. I absolutely hate summer where everyone is all over the place all the time. It kills me and is exhausting. As a single parent of a 13, 12 and 5 month old I have a strict schedule of how things work in our house. Without that there is chaos. Here's to hoping you're able to find your routine soon!
Also, the shout out to the working single moms & dads for that matter rocked Samantha!
I know how you feel but please come back. I'll be curled up over in the corner until you do. No pressure. ;)
Boy, your post brings back memories. Been there, done that, bought the t-shirt.
What saved me was having systems for everything. I have a system for keeping the house clean, laundry done, dishes done, and getting healthy dinners on the table fast.
You can stop by my blog and see if you find anything helpful, or drop me an email. I'd be happy to help.
There are many advantages to being a single mom. No reporting in if you guys decide to go do something on the way home, nobody sitting on the couch with their feet on the coffee table, drink a beer wanting to know when dinner's going to be ready, nobody watching inappropriate stuff on the TV when the kids are still in the room, ... Shall I go on?
Just get some systems in place and relish the freedom.
Having a 2 year old and a full time job is always a lot of work for me. Between my job and taking care of my daughter I feel I never get any me time. Even a little TV would be nice. Working for DISH, sure I get to see TV from time to time but it's not like being at home relaxing. That's why I'm so glad I got rid of Comcast cable and became a DISH subscriber. DISH has TV everywhere and since I been trying to save money; I been taking the light rail to work. So from work to home I am able to watch Live TV on my Android phone. I'm glad I have TV Everywhere because I feel like I'm connecting back to the world.
