Single Mom by Choice?

I've been pondering this lately and I need some input:

I've been referring to myself as a Single Mom by Choice. Could you help me out and answer these questions for me.

What does Single Mom by Choice mean to you?

What assumptions do you make about my circumstances?

Much appreciated... thanx.

Well, here's what I would assume, based on how I feel about being a single mom by choice. If you're like me, you were in a relationship that was toxic, in one way or another. Mine was due to him never being able to grow up, get a car, hold a job, etc. I have grown to learn that I do better on my own. I dont NEED anyone, however, sometimes I WANT someone around. Someone I'm interested in knows I have kids, but rarely, if ever meets them, because kids don't need to be exposed to men walking into and out of their lives. It screws them up and could perhaps be why I am the way I am. In the long run, my kids will be better off without their dad in the picture because I would never want them to grow up and think that the kind of laziness that I put up with for so long is acceptable.

I don't know what kind of situation you were in and why you're a single mom by choice, but for some of us, it's just what works for the situation at hand.

By the way, I think this is the first time I've commented here. I think that this topic kinda hit a nerve with me. I just don't understand people who stay miserable. I like your writing, keep it up :)
